Paula Deen,Where Art Thou?

It has been over two months since I blogged here, but I continue to check the Site Meter to see how many "hits" this blog receives and what people are looking for when they visit.

Paula Deen is a very popular search item. What I don't understand is why anyone would search blogs for her recipes? All of her recipes are available at www.foodnetwork.com. In the last week I had three hits by three different people looking for Paula Deen's broccoli slaw recipe.

Well, I just searched for broccoli slaw on the Food Network site and there are none by Paula Deen. What's the deal?

Paula needs to come up with a broccoli slaw recipe, I guess.

Broccoli Cole Slaw

Ingredients:

2 bags (3-ounce) Ramen Noodle Soup in Oriental (other flavors will work, too)
3/4 stick butter
1/4 cup slivered almonds
2 bags (12-ounce) bags broccoli cole slaw (in the bagged salad section of the grocery store)
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
Chopped green onions, for garnish

Dressing Mix:

3/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup brown or white sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 ramen noodle seasoning packet

Put the ramen noodles in a bag and crush them with a rolling pin while melting butter in a large skillet over low/medium heat. Add the crushed noodles and slivered almonds to the skillet and saute, stirring occasionally (keep temperature at low/medium heat). Meanwhile, whisk together all the dressing ingredients in a small bowl. Place the shredded broccoli into bowl and toss with the noodles, almonds, and sunflower seeds. Pour dressing over salad and toss to coat. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Thanks, hollymcdonoughga, for the recipe. I hope all of Paula's fans will forgive us for not having a real PD recipe, but this looks great.

My friend and traveling buddy, Sue, makes her delicious broccoli slaw with raisins in addition to the other good ingredients in this recipe.
